Lack of control can be a good thing
I've always demanded complete control over my blogs and websites, which is why Scribbles is such an outlier for me. I get twitchy when I can't "touch" all the bits making up a website.
This morning, to assuage that feeling a little, I started to write a post in my Kirby-based baty.net blog. For some reason, I would see a 404 error when trying to preview the post. Then I remembered that April is a new month, and I never figured out how to have Kirby automatically make a new monthly folder. I had also forgotten that I need to change some of the blueprint code and create the folders myself every month. It's a small thing, but it brought me to a standstill this morning.
I am still twitchy about not having control, but I'm typing this in a pleasant web editor and when I hit Publish it'll just work. There's something to be said for that.
